Opening Day

On opening day there will be free face paints to look like the Na’vi from Avatar. The people who buy park-hopping passes will be able to get a free t-shirt when they enter the Hometree. When the sun sets, 100,000 glow sticks will be handed out to various park goers. In addition to the guests being Avatars, there will be actors and actresses walking throughout the park at all times to excite the guests and help them feel as though they are truly in another world. We are estimating about 50,000 guests to enter the park on this day to participate on the activities and freebies. Once Avatar World opens, we expect at least a 5% attendance increase.

While the revenue on tickets may not offset the costs for opening day, overall we should come out with a profit. Any extra paints or t-shirts can be reused throughout the week for a price. It will take time to cover the overall costs of the park, but one operating year will bring in enough revenue to sustain itself. Below are some of the opening day expenses that will be taken into account:

Paints: $5,050 for 1000 six color sets in .75 ounces from Palmer Face Paint
Glow sticks: $13,990 for 100,000 8’’ sticks from Amazon
T-shirts: $321,600 for 60,000 shirts with design from CustomInk

The following is a description of a few attractions that will be highlighted on opening day:

Carousel made up of the Pandora creatures.
Dragon roller coaster through the forest.
Slow water ride through dark tunnels surrounded by glowing plants.
Spaceship stimulation that takes guests from Earth to Pandora. Captain talks to them throughout ride
Water play area to cool off in. Vibrant pipes that release water.
Interactive play/musical of certain scenes in movie.
Educational tour in Hometree for how important nature is.
